Hero’s first electric bike is coming, how much will it cost? Hero MotoCorp has targeted the premium motorcycle segment from the second half of 2023. First the launch of the Harley-Davidson X440, followed by the Karizma XMR 210. And a few days ago Mavrick 440 was unveiled. All in all, the company is unwilling to leave any gaps in its efforts to pave the way in the expensive two-wheeler market from 2024. Niranjan Gupta, CEO of Hero MotoCorp confirmed that the company’s first electric motorcycle will also be a premium model. He also indicated about the price.

Hero has also shown a glimmer of hope for buyers interested in an affordable eco-friendly two-wheeler. They plan to introduce three new battery powered scooty under the Vida brand within the next one year. And the premium e-bike can be launched at 3-4 lakh rupees.

Hero is also looking at bringing electric scooters used in business to business or B2B last mile delivery this year. Currently the company has only one electric scooter in its line-up – the Vida V1 Pro. Along with this another variant called Vida V1 Plus was launched. But its sale was stopped due to low demand.

Regarding the launch of the new model, Gupta confirmed, “We hope to bring an electric e-bike concept to the stage of the next Hero World. But that is in the higher performance segment. Maybe equivalent to a 450 cc petrol bike. As a result it will not be as cheap as the commuter model. So the price may be Rs 4-5 lakh.” Gupta believes that the process of electrification of electric motorcycles will be long. So it will take time. Because in this case, power has to be taken into consideration as well as more range.
